Math Courses

ALGEBRA 1

Pre-Requisites: None
Content: Students will learn the basics of algebra: from understanding and using variables, solving algebraic equations and inequalities, to graphing basic linear, and non-linear equations.

GEOMETRY

Pre-Requisite: Successful completion of BOTH semesters of Algebra 1
Content: Students will study properties of points, lines, planes, angles, and basic shapes such as triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles.  We use these shapes to discuss related topics such as area, volume, trigonometry, logic, and introduce the concept of an axiomatic proof.

ALGEBRA 2

Pre-Requisite: Successful completion of BOTH semesters of Algebra 1 and Geometry
Content: Students will further develop concepts from Algebra 1, from functions to graphing.  Different types of functions are introduced, including logarithmic, exponential, and rational functions. Methods to find solutions and graph quadratic and polynomial functions will be developed.
