WHAT IS JSA? WHAT IS JUNIOR STAT OF AMERICA?
Junior State of America is the largest student run organization which is dedicated to strengthening American democracy by educating and preparing high school students for life-long involvement and responsible leadership in a democratic society. Through JSA you can give your view and perspectives on certain issues. We as a Chapter in Bell Gardens High School attend Conventions and Conferences all throughout Southern California. Conventions such as, Fall State in November & Winter Congress in February which are overnight conventions, so we stay overnight at the hotel the convention is being held at. Fall State Los Angeles is always in LAX Marriot, and Winter Congress is in Torrance Marriot. Through these conventions we along with other students from all over Southern California gather together throughout the weekend and have thought talks, debates, & workshops that strengthen our leadership skills. We also, attend Conferences and One Days. These Conference and One Days are formatted in the same structure as the overnight conventions except for the fact that they are only 1 day; however, same structure. Other than that come join us in Mr. Lugo's Room in 413 during Lunch every Thursday.
